Grand old hotel situated at the southern point of the old town and overlooked by the Royal Palace and Cathedral.
The old square, Jewish quarter and Shindler's factory are all within walking distance.
Top Tip
The hotel's own resaurant is to be recommended for the quality, quantity and price of the food.
Try also the Noah's Ark Jewish Cafe & Restaurant in the Jewish Quarter. www.arka-noego.pl

The first room we were given was a bit dark. We had it changed to a much brighter room. Decor a bit dated but hotel spotless.

Helpful and friendly staff, couldn't fault them on effort. Facilities pretty good but let down a bit by rather tired bathroom.
No tea/coffee in room but there is a fridge so you can DIY if you take a travel kettle.
Top Tip
The BEST church to visit is St Mary's on the main square, a riot of gold leaf and extravagance, lots of others but pale in comparison. Tram's go all over the place . get a map showing routes and its 2.5 PLN "Szlotties" per ride(50p). Pieroga is traditional fodder (fried, a bit on the lines of ravioli) as is beetroot either as a soup or veg. Potato pancakes are deep fried and can be OK or yuk!

We had a quiet double room facing the castle, which was spacious and modernised, and a twin on the street with rumbly trams, which was less roomy - but adequate- and unmodernised. It is a bit of a walk from the station but well sited for tourism. The restaurant on the ground floor is well worth patronising. We tended to eat there breakfast, lunch and supper.
